TechFlow news, on November 7, Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal recently stated that he expects "significant changes" in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) cryptocurrency-related cases under the leadership of the SEC chair nominee appointed by President-elect Trump. Grewal told reporters: "I think the new administration will reevaluate all crypto cases brought during Gary Gensler's tenure, distinguishing clear fraud cases from non-fraud cases."
While Grewal did not explicitly say that cases against Coinbase and other companies investigated for alleged securities violations would be dropped, he appeared optimistic that the change in SEC leadership and the establishment of clearer rules would lead to renewed scrutiny.
