TechFlow news, on November 6, according to CNN, at 7 p.m. Eastern Time on November 5, polling stations began closing in multiple states including the key swing state of Georgia. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said that due to a brief disruption caused by an unverified threat, polling locations in about 10 counties—described as a "small number"—in the state would extend their hours.
The states whose polls have closed in this round and their respective electoral votes are: Georgia (16), Indiana (11), Kentucky (8), South Carolina (9), Vermont (3), and Virginia (13).
Georgia, a relatively new swing state, helped Biden win the White House in 2020, when he carried the state by a narrow margin of 11,779 votes—the first time in nearly 30 years the state had voted Democratic. The latest polls show that the 2024 presidential race in Georgia remains highly competitive.
