TechFlow News — On November 5, according to CNN, as the United States held its presidential election day, 81-year-old current President Joe Biden—though not running—faced an outcome with major implications for his political legacy. White House officials revealed that Biden and his wife would monitor election developments from the private residence of the White House alongside longtime aides and senior staff.
Biden has remained low-key in recent days and has no public events scheduled today. He will receive regular updates on election results from across the country. Months ago, Biden had hoped to seek re-election, but circumstances have diverged sharply from those expectations. The election's outcome may ultimately shape how history remembers President Biden.
Biden’s team believes his swift endorsement of Harris after withdrawing from the race helped unify the Democratic Party around her. If Harris wins, it would block Trump from returning to the White House; however, if she loses, internal party criticism may arise over whether Biden exited the race too late, potentially harming their chances.
Even from the sidelines, Biden continues to warn of the risks of a Trump re-election. The White House is also actively working to safeguard Biden’s key policy achievements, preparing to defend them in case Trump seeks to overturn them upon taking office. In a recent speech, Biden said: “We’ve made significant progress, and Harris will build on that foundation.”
