TechFlow news, on November 5, according to Jinshi Data, on U.S. Election Day, several key battleground states were hit by a strong cold front, resulting in heavy rain and severe storms. Areas from eastern Texas to the border region of Missouri and Illinois, including St. Louis, experienced the heaviest rainfall. Numerous flash flood warnings have been issued across these regions. Although the rain system will gradually shift eastward, existing downpours could affect voters attempting to head out early in the morning to cast their ballots. The weather front will continue moving east, bringing showers to other battleground states such as Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, as well as southern Louisiana.
In past elections, rainfall has led to a slight decline in voter turnout. Among the seven battleground states, Wisconsin faces the worst weather conditions, with the Storm Prediction Center issuing level 1 to 5 severe storm threats across most of the state. Widespread showers and even thunderstorms may bring gusty winds exceeding 60 miles per hour and brief tornadoes.
