TechFlow news, on November 3, according to The Block, Ethereum researchers Justin Drake and Dankrad Feist announced on X that they have resigned from their advisory roles at the restaking platform Eigenlayer amid controversy over disclosing their positions. They stated they are stepping down to focus on the Ethereum network. Drake noted he had already resigned from the role in September.
In his statement, Drake wrote: "I want to apologize to the Ethereum community and my colleagues at the EF (Ethereum Foundation) for causing this spectacle—hindsight shows it was a poor move on my part." Drake previously described his token allocation payment as substantial, claiming it represented "millions of dollars in token vesting over three years."
Feist said in his post: "EigenLayer is a great project, and I hope it continues to complement Ethereum well in multiple ways. But there is still a lot of important work to do on Ethereum, and I will concentrate all my efforts on completing it."
Additionally, Drake stated, "Going forward, I will decline all advisory, angel investment, and security committee roles. This personal policy goes beyond the recent EF conflict-of-interest guidelines—not because anyone asked me to, but because I want to demonstrate my commitment to neutrality."
