TechFlow reports, on November 1, according to Messari's latest Filecoin Q3 2024 State Report, new storage deals on Filecoin increased by 16% quarter-over-quarter in Q3, with storage utilization rising from 26% in Q2 to nearly 30% in Q3, while total storage capacity declined by 18% quarter-over-quarter.
The report noted that as of the end of Q3, over 2,000 users have stored datasets on Filecoin, including 518 users who stored large datasets exceeding 1,000 TiB. In DeFi, more than 4,500 unique contracts have been deployed on the Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM), with net deposits in FVM-based DeFi exceeding 20 million FIL (approximately $84 million), primarily used for collateral, liquid staking, and DEXs.
In addition, during Q3 Filecoin expanded its ecosystem by launching the Filecoin Web Services (FWS) framework, creating a verifiable services marketplace for developers and users. The network also implemented the Waffle upgrade and announced the Filecoin Fast Finality (F3) initiative to enhance scalability and efficiency. To broaden data solutions, Filecoin established a series of artificial intelligence partnerships.
