TechFlow News, October 31 — According to Bitcoin.com News, AI infrastructure company Crusoe Energy is set to complete a $500 million equity financing round led by billionaire Peter Thiel's Founders Fund. The funding brings the company’s valuation to $3 billion, doubling its value from two years ago. Just weeks earlier, Crusoe Energy announced a $3.4 billion joint venture with Lancium Clean Campus to build data centers in Texas.
Crusoe Energy already secured $200 million in funding at the end of 2023 and purchased thousands of Nvidia H100 GPUs. According to a PitchBook report, 40% of total venture capital spending—amounting to $93 billion in the first half of 2024—flowed into AI companies. Notably, Founders Fund has participated in Crusoe Energy’s funding since its 2019 seed round and previously invested in OpenAI, now valued at over $157 billion.
