TechFlow news, October 28 — According to Bitcoin.com News, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson announced that after the development team successfully ran the game "Doom" on Cardano's Layer-2 scaling solution Hydra, the next goal is to develop a Nintendo emulator on Hydra. This project will allow users to play classic games from platforms such as Nintendo and Super Nintendo directly on Hydra.
The version of "Doom" running on Hydra uses smart contracts to verify in-game state changes, with all player actions—such as movement and shooting—recorded as transactions on the Hydra Layer-2 chain. Previously, Cardano partnered with BitcoinOS to bring $1.3 trillion in Bitcoin liquidity into its DeFi ecosystem. Hoskinson noted that speedrunning communities represent a large user base, with over 2 million speedrun attempts already recorded on Speedrun.com across more than 20,000 games.
