TechFlow reported on October 26, according to Bloomberg, that the New York Stock Exchange plans to extend trading hours at its NYSE Arca stock exchange to 22 hours per day on business days.
As part of Intercontinental Exchange, the NYSE stated that the new trading hours for NYSE Arca will run from 1:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. Kevin Tyrrell, Head of Markets at the NYSE, said the move highlights the strength of U.S. capital markets and growing global demand for listed securities. The exchange also plans to seek support from the Securities Information Processor and submit an updated regulatory framework to the SEC.
