TechFlow news, on October 26, according to Decrypt, two months after admitting to the "attack" on Pump.fun, Jarett Dunn (also known as Stacc) has requested to withdraw his guilty plea. The charges involve abuse of power and transferring criminal property. Following this move, his legal team has withdrawn from the case.
At the time of the "attack," Jarett Dunn was an employee of Pump.fun, and he stated that he wanted to "terminate" the protocol because it had "long been unintentionally harming people." When Jarett Dunn took approximately $2 million worth of tokens from the protocol, he sent them to a number of random addresses without consent. Although this "attack" still harmed some regular traders, a group of observers hailed Dunn as a Robin Hood figure in the crypto space. Jarett Dunn appeared at a hearing at Wood Green Crown Court in London, where sentencing was originally scheduled. If everything had proceeded as planned, he could have faced more than seven years in prison. At the last minute, however, Jarett Dunn changed his mind and asked to withdraw his guilty plea. This action could potentially result in a longer prison sentence for Dunn.
Jarett Dunn currently has two weeks to find representation for a hearing at which he will seek to change his plea. If the request is granted, the case will proceed to trial, where numerous witnesses (possibly including the founders of Pump.fun) may be called to testify. Nevertheless, the court may still reject Jarett Dunn's request.
