TechFlow news, October 24 — According to CrowdFund Insider, digital asset brokerage and trading platform Hata.io announced it has raised $4.2 million in seed funding. The round was led by prominent U.S.-based investors Castle Island Ventures and Cadenza Ventures. Castle Island Ventures, founded by a former Fidelity executive, has invested in companies including Yellowcard, BlockFi, and Pintu—the third-largest digital asset exchange in Indonesia. Cadenza Ventures focuses on early-stage blockchain and fintech startups, with prior investments in exchanges such as CoinDCX in India, VALR in South Africa, and Rain in the Middle East.
The company plans to use the newly raised capital to develop new products and accelerate user acquisition across Asia, strengthening its position in the competitive digital asset sector. Hata is the only digital asset exchange in Malaysia holding dual licenses from both the Securities Commission Malaysia and the Labuan Financial Services Authority, enabling it to serve both domestic and international investors. Currently, Malaysia has over 840,000 digital asset investors, with local exchanges recording annual trading volumes exceeding 21 billion Malaysian ringgit.
