TechFlow news, on October 24, according to Decrypt, a newly registered user on the prediction market platform Polymarket placed a $2 million bet on U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris winning the presidential election. This large transaction caused Harris's odds of winning on the platform to rise. As of October 23, Trump’s probability stood at a high of 66%. After this new user entered the market aggressively, Trump’s odds slightly dropped to 63%.
The user, known as Ly67890, a so-called "whale," made their first trade on Polymarket on October 23 and quickly became the largest holder of contracts predicting a Harris victory. Ly67890’s bets were spread across dozens of transactions, with six exceeding $100,000 each, and the largest single bet amounting to approximately $148,500.
Nevertheless, the scale of Ly67890’s betting remains smaller than Fredi9999, the biggest backer of Trump on the platform. Since joining in June, Fredi9999 has wagered $13 million on a Trump victory. According to PolygonScan data, this user’s digital wallet received $2 million in USDC stablecoin less than a day ago from a wallet labeled “Binance: Hot Wallet 2”.
