TechFlow reported on October 24, according to CoinDesk, the meme coin RUSSELL—named after Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong's dog—briefly surged after an AI bot called Truth Terminal posted a related tweet.
On-chain data shows that approximately 1 minute and 32 seconds before Truth Terminal's tweet, an address made a large purchase of RUSSELL tokens. About 1 minute and 32 seconds after the tweet was sent, the same address quickly sold off the holdings for profit. Andy Ayrey, operator of Truth Terminal, later confirmed that someone had spammed the word "Russell" in mentions of the bot, causing the AI to pick up and use the term.
