TechFlow reports on October 23 that, according to Cointelegraph, Gary Gensler, Chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in an interview with Bloomberg, extended congratulations on the upcoming "sweet sixteen" anniversary of the Bitcoin white paper, which was first released on October 31, 2008.
Gensler stated that the SEC will continue its current regulatory approach toward cryptocurrencies, including its practice of "regulation by enforcement." He emphasized: "We will continue to protect investors and promote capital formation and market development."
Previous report, the SEC's Division of Enforcement has listed digital assets as one of its key regulatory priorities for 2025. Despite criticism from industry leaders and lawmakers regarding Gensler's regulatory approach, he has not indicated any intention to soften the commission's stringent stance.
