TechFlow News, October 22 — According to Crowdfund Insider, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved Cboe and NYSE American exchanges to list options products on multiple Bitcoin ETFs.
Cboe is authorized to list options on the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) and the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB). NYSE American is authorized to list options on the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF (GBTC), Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (BTC), and Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB). Previously, the SEC had approved options trading for BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT).
According to filings, both exchanges have set a single-side position limit of 25,000 contracts per Bitcoin ETF option, lower than limits for other ETF options. As of August 30, 2024, GBTC had issued approximately 367 million shares, with a market capitalization exceeding $13.4 billion; BITB had issued around 68.7 million shares; FBTC had issued over 201 million shares, with more than 1.1 billion shares traded over six months; ARKB had issued about 45.5 million shares, with over 297 million shares traded during the same period.
