TechFlow news, October 21 — According to Cryptonews, on October 18, 2024, at the BRICS Business Forum held in Moscow, Russia's sovereign wealth fund, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), announced a partnership with BitRiver, the country's largest cryptocurrency mining company, to jointly build data centers across BRICS nations.
Igor Runets, CEO of BitRiver, said the collaboration with RDIF will leverage cryptocurrency mining to create infrastructure for data centers and integrate corresponding computing power to deploy and implement artificial intelligence projects. Currently, BitRiver operates 21 data centers in Russia and is constructing 10 new ones. Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of RDIF, stated that the two parties will focus on expanding the potential of cryptocurrency mining data centers, with possible further technological expansion into BRICS markets. He emphasized that developing AI computing capacity is a priority for Russia and its BRICS partners.
