TechFlow news, October 17 — According to Business Insider, citing sources familiar with the matter, AI-powered sales startup Clay is raising a new round of funding that would value the company at around $1.3 billion. Existing investors are expected to participate in the round, though specific details have not yet been finalized.
Founded in 2017, Clay primarily supports revenue operations and growth teams by helping automate prospecting outreach. The company closed a $46 million Series B round in June 2024 led by Meritech Capital, at a valuation of $500 million. Prominent backers including Sequoia Capital, First Round Capital, Box Group, and Boldstart Ventures also participated in that round.
Clay's core offerings include helping teams build prospect lists, providing AI agents for lead research, and using AI messaging tools to assist sales teams in sending personalized outreach messages. The company integrates with over 75 data providers, offering detailed prospect information such as company size and funding history.
