TechFlow news, on October 17, according to Cointelegraph, blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis is set to appear in New York's Supreme Court to face a $650 million defamation lawsuit. The suit was filed in January 2024 by Exceptional Media Ltd., the operator of the YieldNodes blockchain investment project.
Exceptional Media alleges that Chainalysis wrongly labeled YieldNodes as an "investment scam," seeking at least $650 million in damages for reputational harm and loss of customers. The lawsuit also accuses Chainalysis of acting maliciously. According to the complaint, Chainalysis indicated it could upgrade or reclassify YieldNodes to "high-risk" status, but claimed this would take "several months."
Chainalysis has repeatedly moved to dismiss the case, arguing that Exceptional Media and YieldNodes have failed to prove their project is not a scam or to refute Chainalysis' allegations. Chainalysis' legal team stated the complaint fails to demonstrate the falsity of its claims and emphasized its report identified YieldNodes as a typical high-return investment scam.
