TechFlow news: On October 16, according to Justic.gov, Damian Williams, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that on October 15, 2024, JUAN TACURI, one of the masterminds behind the cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme Forcount (later known as Weltsys), was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres to a maximum of 240 months in prison. The scam spanned globally and targeted thousands of victim investors ("victims"), primarily Spanish-speaking individuals in the United States. JUAN TACURI profited millions of dollars from the fraud, which he spent on real estate in Florida and luxury goods.
