TechFlow News, October 15 — Nansen CEO Alex Svanevik stated on X that he will no longer apply for permanent residency. "It feels inconsistent with the values upon which Lee Kuan Yew founded this country when you have to repeatedly seek bureaucratic approval or submit the same documents ten times for your application."
"I was surprised to learn that many permanent residents now must apply annually for re-entry permits. To me, this completely undermines the very purpose of being a permanent resident."
"So I will continue holding an Employment Pass (EP) while exploring other places to reside."
"I admit I’m disappointed with the outcome, as I believe I’ve made positive contributions to Singapore in multiple ways. It’s a great place to live, and I had hoped Singapore could become a home for my family for generations."
Earlier reports indicated that Alex Svanevik, CEO of blockchain analytics platform Nansen, revealed on social media that his application for Singapore permanent residency was rejected.
