TechFlow news, according to Cryptonnews, a Nigerian court has rejected Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan's request for bail on medical grounds, sparking strong opposition from Binance.
A Binance spokesperson said in a statement: "We are deeply disappointed by the court's decision to deny Tigran bail, especially given his deteriorating health. He has already been unlawfully detained for over 220 days. Tigran did not go to Nigeria as a decision-maker, and there is no justification for his continued detention. We remain committed to working with the Nigerian government to resolve issues, but Tigran must be allowed to return home."
Binance has consistently emphasized that Gambaryan does not hold substantial decision-making authority within the exchange, and his prolonged detention has raised humanitarian concerns. As Gambaryan's health continues to worsen and his detention drags on, calls for his release are growing louder. Binance, together with several international advocates, continues its campaign for his freedom.
Previous report, Binance CEO Richard Teng accused Nigerian officials of demanding a $150 million bribe from the company, a claim that has been rebutted and denied by the relevant authorities.
