TechFlow reported on October 11 that Soneium, a Layer2 project under Sony, announced two major upgrades scheduled for the end of this month. These upgrades will introduce Granite and Fjord via dual hard forks and update its Layer 1 contracts to version v1.6.0.
Soneium stated that these upgrades aim to enhance network security and efficiency, preparing Soneium Minato for integration into Optimism's Superchain ecosystem. After the upgrade, Soneium will be able to expand its ecosystem alongside other OP Stack-based Layer2 solutions.
Additionally, these updates will enable Superchain governance to oversee future Layer 1 contract upgrades, further strengthening the decentralization of the Soneium ecosystem.
