TechFlow news, according to Decrypt, global payments giant Stripe has announced the resumption of cryptocurrency payment support after six years, allowing businesses to accept USD Coin (USDC) payments through its platform. This marks Stripe's first return to the crypto market since it halted Bitcoin payments in 2018 due to market volatility and high fees.
Stripe currently supports USDC payments via the Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon networks, with plans to expand to more countries in the future. This move will help businesses streamline cryptocurrency transactions and improve payment efficiency by automatically converting stablecoin payments into fiat settlements.
In addition, Stripe has integrated with the Avalanche blockchain, further expanding user access to crypto products and NFT platforms. This strategic shift by Stripe will provide more payment options for companies using its technology and promote broader adoption of cryptocurrency in global markets.
