TechFlow reports that on October 8, Starknet officially announced the launch of STRK token staking on the Starknet Sepolia testnet. As the first Layer 2 network to introduce token staking, Starknet is accelerating its efforts toward greater network decentralization and enhanced security. The testing phase features relaxed staking requirements to enable broader participation and thorough stress-testing of the staking contracts. Specifically, the minimum staking amount is set at 1 STRK (compared to the planned 20,000 STRK on mainnet), and the unstaking lock-up period is 5 minutes (compared to the planned 21 days on mainnet).
The Starknet team stated that if the test phase proceeds smoothly, the STRK staking functionality will be officially launched on the mainnet in a few weeks.
