TechFlow news, according to Cointelegraph, Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren and Republican candidate John Deaton will hold two debates on October 15 and October 17 ahead of the 2024 U.S. election.
New England Public Media and GBH News will host a debate between the two Senate candidates in Springfield on October 17. Warren and Deaton will also debate earlier on October 15 on Boston's WSBK-TV. It remains unclear whether digital assets will be a topic during the debates. GBH News said it would not disclose the topics in advance.
During her tenure, Warren has been outspoken in criticizing cryptocurrency, linking digital assets to funding illegal activities. Deaton, a lawyer, supports Ripple and other crypto firms facing lawsuits from the U.S. SEC. Several polls from September show Warren leading Deaton by more than 20 percentage points, and many expect this race to serve as a referendum on crypto policy. On social media, Deaton has accused the SEC of pushing an "anti-crypto agenda" through enforcement actions and criticized SEC Chair Gary Gensler.
