TechFlow News — On October 7, according to Decrypt, the Arbitrum Foundation announced its "Road to Devcon" initiative, doubling down on Asia's rapid growth potential. Citing the region’s fast-expanding developer communities and rising retail crypto adoption, the foundation launched a three-pronged campaign in preparation for Devcon 2024 in Bangkok.
The initiative includes two in-person ArbiLink events in Vietnam and Indonesia, designed to connect with the rapidly growing local developer communities. GitHub data shows developer numbers in these regions increased by 31% and 34% year-on-year, respectively. Concurrently, the "Step Into Arbitrum" learn-and-earn program will invite participants to get familiar with the Arbitrum SDK through five modules. In October, a subsequent rewards campaign will encourage developers to test their Arbitrum SDK knowledge through coding challenges and build decentralized applications (dapps).
Arbitrum's "Road to Devcon" follows its recent Asian tour, which included the first-ever Arbitrum Night event in Tokyo, showcasing 15 gaming and NFT projects built on the chain. Other activities featured a collaborative booth with ApeChain and the first high-level roundtable hosted during Korea Blockchain Week. Additionally, Arbitrum held its inaugural ArbiVerse event at Singapore’s ArtScience Museum, featuring 11 selected partners including Ubisoft, Azuki, and ApeChain.
