TechFlow news, October 6 — According to Cointelegraph, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has donated 100 ETH (worth approximately $240,000) to the Tornado Cash developers' legal defense fund "Free Alexey & Roman." This marks Vitalik's third donation to the fund. The fund has now raised over 327 ETH, equivalent to around $785,000.
The funds will support the legal defense of Tornado Cash developers Alexey Pertsev and Roman Storm. Roman Storm expressed deep gratitude for the contribution. Despite ongoing legal pressures, Tornado Cash recorded deposit volumes of about $1.9 billion in the first half of 2024, a 50% increase compared to the entire previous year.
