TechFlow news, on October 5, according to Bitcoin.com News, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a warning urging investors to beware of Ichcoin, a fraudulent cryptocurrency platform. The platform primarily targets investors through social media, luring them into sending money and ultimately causing severe financial losses. FBI Assistant Special Agent Amanda Calver stated that scammers typically initiate contact via social platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, then move communications to WhatsApp, posing as cryptocurrency investment coaches. They manipulate victims into lying to their banks and transferring large sums of money to the fraudulent platform.
Victims are misled into believing their investments are growing, but encounter sudden "disappearance" when attempting to withdraw funds. Calver emphasized that some victims have lost their life savings, and warned investors to watch for red flags such as unsolicited investment messages from strangers, promises of high returns, or offers of free investment funds.
