TechFlow reports that Adam Iza, a cryptocurrency entrepreneur nicknamed "The Godfather" from Los Angeles, has been arrested on multiple charges. According to authorities, Iza is accused of impersonating an FBI agent in an armed robbery of cryptocurrency in 2018, and of bribing officers from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) with hundreds of thousands of dollars, including one payment amounting to $154,933.
Iza previously operated Zort, a cryptocurrency trading platform that claimed to be an AI-driven automated trading system. The FBI alleges that Iza also used shell companies to evade approximately $1.715 million in federal taxes, funneling the proceeds into luxury expenditures such as expensive cars, leasing a mansion in Bel-Air, and cosmetic surgery. Iza is scheduled to appear in court on October 8.
