TechFlow news — On September 25, the decentralized science (DeSci) project AminoChain announced a $5 million seed round led by a16z. This marks a16z's first investment in the DeSci space. AminoChain is building an L2 blockchain protocol connecting enterprise healthcare institutions and developing user-owned decentralized healthcare applications on top of it. Its first application is a biosample marketplace, where researchers can query and license samples through a biobank network. Patients can track how their samples are used, gain new insights, and receive revenue when their samples are sold. AminoChain aims to build a new enterprise-grade on-chain bioeconomy and plans to launch multiple decentralized applications in areas such as clinical recruitment, real-world evidence, and federated learning.
