TechFlow reported on September 25, according to The Block, multiple sources confirmed that Caroline Ellison, former girlfriend of SBF and ex-CEO of Alameda Research, has been sentenced to two years in prison for her involvement in the collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX. Ellison pleaded guilty in December 2022 to seven charges, including two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, two counts of wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit commodities fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud, and one count of conspiracy to engage in money laundering. Judge Lewis Kaplan handed down a relatively lenient sentence, taking into account Ellison's extensive cooperation with prosecutors. The judgment also requires Ellison to forfeit approximately $11 billion and allows her to serve her sentence at a minimum-security prison.
