The case stemmed from Musk's decision to rapidly fire more than half of Twitter's workforce after acquiring the company for $44 billion in 2022. According to a memo obtained by Bloomberg, an arbitrator ruled that Musk must fully pay severance to a former employee laid off after the acquisition. Shannon Liss-Riordan, the lawyer representing the employee, said: "The arbitrator awarded full severance to our client. We are excited about this development and hope it signals more good news to come."
