TechFlow news, September 19 — According to Cointelegraph, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson plans to meet with Argentine President Javier Milei on October 19, 2024, to discuss cryptocurrency economies and how blockchain technology can reshape the global economic and political systems.
In an interview, Hoskinson said: "We will explore the value and needs of blockchain technology for Argentina, including whether the country chooses to pursue a central bank digital currency (CBDC) path, and what partners are required during its economic rebuilding process."
Hoskinson referred to Milei as a "philosophical Austrian school" figure, believing the president's ideology aligns closely with the spirit of the cryptocurrency industry. He said: "Milei wants to move away from government-controlled money and supports private institutions and free markets." Notably, Cardano already has strong roots in Argentina. In June 2024, the Cardano Foundation signed a cooperation agreement with Argentina aimed at promoting the local application of blockchain technology.
