TechFlow reported, citing Blockworks, that MagicBlock, a Solana-based gaming company, has raised $3 million in pre-seed funding, with participation from venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).
MagicBlock is developing a game engine that enables video games to run entirely on-chain. The company addresses blockchain's slow speed through a new technology called "transient rollup," which temporarily moves Solana's state to a higher-throughput rollup before settling back to the Layer 1.
The company plans to use the new funds to expand its team, further develop its technology, launch the game engine on Solana's mainnet, and collaborate with on-chain games.
