TechFlow News, September 17 — According to Decrypt, during the launch event of his cryptocurrency platform World Liberty Financial, Donald Trump stated that if he fails to win a second term this November, American crypto entrepreneurs currently under investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will "live in hell." Trump bluntly declared: "If I don't win the election, those who are now under investigation but still free, as well as those in the crypto world who haven't yet been targeted, will live in hell—because if they [his opponents] win, this situation will begin the day after the election."
Trump criticized the "extremely hostile" regulatory approach toward the cryptocurrency industry under SEC Chair Gary Gensler. He argued that regulatory attitudes toward the sector have improved since he became involved in crypto, attributing this shift to electoral considerations. Although the Biden administration has recently softened its stance on crypto regulation, Trump's Democratic rival Kamala Harris has not yet provided specific details about her own cryptocurrency regulatory agenda.
