TechFlow reported, according to Cointelegraph, that Kjell-Børge Freiberg, mayor of the Norwegian town of Hadsel, said the noise from a bitcoin mining facility had disturbed many residents, leading to the mine being shut down during the week of September 9.
However, Dennis Porter, co-founder of the Satoshi Action Fund, analyzed that after the ban took effect, the drop in regional electricity demand caused other users to bear higher power costs. Residents' electricity bills surged by $300 per household (an increase of over 25%), compensating for the revenue loss caused by bitcoin mining companies exiting the area.
