TechFlow reports that blockchain platform Zilliqa has announced the launch of the Jasper prototype testnet for Zilliqa 2.0, marking the first release on its new upgraded network roadmap aimed at driving mass adoption of Web3.
The Jasper prototype testnet introduces Zilliqa 2.0's new proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, enabling fast and low-cost transactions while maintaining energy efficiency and global scalability.
Zilliqa 2.0 plans to progressively introduce features such as x-sharding and smart accounts in the future, offering unprecedented customization and accessibility. The Zilliqa 2.0 mainnet is scheduled to officially launch in the fourth quarter of 2024.
