TechFlow news — Qiao Wang, founder of AllianceDAO, shared a unique perspective during an interview on their investment in and incubation of Pump.fun. Qiao emphasized that when investing in consumer-facing products at an early stage, the decision hinges more on judgment of the founder than on the project idea itself. He stated that he observed strong "autistic traits" in the founders of Pump.fun. He explained: "Autistic traits enable founders to think independently and perceive the world in a contrarian way, unaffected by prevailing opinions online."
Qiao believes successful crypto founders need two key characteristics: cognitive ability (stemming from autistic traits) and drive (originating from childhood trauma). He sees this combination as the core driver of innovation and project success. While difficult to detect during initial meetings, childhood trauma often serves as the underlying motivation pushing founders forward, instilling a powerful desire "to prove themselves." Qiao admits having a certain degree of "autistic traits" himself, which may explain his distinctive investment intuition.
