TechFlow reports, on September 11, according to an official blog post, cryptocurrency custody platform BitGo announced the adoption of LayerZero's OFT (Omnichain Fungible Token) standard to provide cross-chain interoperability solutions for Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC). BitGo has already deployed WBTC on Avalanche and BNB Chain, with plans to expand to more blockchain networks in the future.
As part of this deployment, BitGo has implemented its own Decentralized Verifier Network (DVN), which must collaborate with either Polyhedra's zkLightClient DVN or LayerZero Labs' DVN to validate each omnichain WBTC transaction. This arrangement ensures a high level of security for WBTC cross-chain transfers.
