TechFlow reports on September 6 that, according to Lookonchain monitoring, on-chain data shows the hacker who attacked Euler Finance in March 2023 left a message for the Penpiexyz attacker expressing admiration: "Good job, bro. I haven't seen a hack like this in a while. I'm glad you kept all the money and didn't let those bastards get back even a single dollar you took. You won, they lost—well done."
It is reported that the Euler Finance attacker had stolen approximately $197 million but eventually chose to return the funds. In contrast, after stealing $27.3 million, the Penpiexyz attacker refused to negotiate repayment and instead deposited the funds into the anonymous mixing service Tornado Cash.
