TechFlow news — On September 4, according to an official blog post, the metaverse platform The Sandbox announced the launch of its "Voxel Games" initiative. This program aims to collaborate with renowned independent developers and studios to create a wide range of accessible games in The Sandbox's signature voxel art style.
The first partners include FRAG Games and The Devhouse Agency. Through this initiative, professional game studios and independent developers can freely create voxel-style games using game engines such as Unity, Unreal, and HTML5, and publish them on other platforms.
Sebastien Borget, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of The Sandbox, said the program advances the platform’s metaverse vision—enabling players to acquire, own, and use digital assets across multiple games and platforms. The first Voxel Games titles are expected to launch in 2025.
