TechFlow news, according to the latest data from HODL15Capital, as of September 1, 2024 (Beijing time), BlackRock's IBIT has become the world's largest institutional holder of Bitcoin, holding 357,509 bitcoins.
MicroStrategy has surpassed Grayscale's GBTC (225,671 BTC) with a total holding of 226,500 BTC, moving into second place.
Fidelity's FBTC ETF ranks fourth with 178,349 BTC, while stablecoin giant Tether holds 75,354 BTC, ranking fifth.
Other major institutional holders include ARK Invest/21 Shares' ARKB (37,147 BTC) and bitcoin miner Marathon Digital (25,000 BTC). Notably, MicroStrategy earlier this year announced its transformation into a "Bitcoin development company" and was the largest known institutional holder before the advent of Bitcoin ETFs.
