TechFlow news — On September 3, according to Cointelegraph, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said during the 2024 Korea Blockchain Week that artificial intelligence and prediction market technologies could accelerate the generation of Community Notes on social media platform X. Community Notes is a feature on X that allows users to add contextual information to potentially misleading posts. Vitalik pointed out that the biggest criticism of Community Notes is that they "don't appear fast enough," which may mislead some users with inaccurate information before the notes are published.
Vitalik suggested that prediction markets might be a solution to this issue. He explained, "Prediction markets can serve as a building block to make other mechanisms faster." He proposed creating a prediction market question whenever a new post is published, determining whether a Community Note is needed. Users could then use large AI language models and bots to place small bets in this prediction market. Vitalik stated that such a mechanism could speed up the process of uncovering truth and provide incentives for participants. "The mechanism would eventually add the note and reward those who correctly predicted the outcome," he added. "It’s essentially a low-cost, high-speed solution."
