TechFlow News, Time.fun, a crypto startup that tokenizes people's time, has completed a $3 million seed funding round led by Brevan Howard Digital. Other investors include Coinbase Ventures, Breed VC, Zee Prime Capital, and Maelstrom, the family office of Arthur Hayes.
Time.fun is a platform built on Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain, enabling creators to tokenize their time. Users can buy, sell, and redeem these time tokens for direct messages or one-on-one calls with creators. Creators earn fees whenever their time is traded or redeemed.
Since launching on June 17, Time.fun has facilitated approximately 570 ether (ETH) in trading volume, generating around 15 ETH (about $60,000) in creator earnings. Time.fun itself has earned roughly $45,000 in revenue.
0xKawz noted that what sets Time.fun apart from similar platforms like Friend.tech is its focus on time tokenization, with plans to launch more products based on "tokenized time" in the future. The company intends to issue its own token at some point, though no specific timeline has been announced.
Currently headquartered in Miami, Time.fun's team consists of three members and is seeking to hire an engineer experienced in React Native.
