TechFlow news: Starknet has announced the release of Cairo 2.8.0, focusing primarily on stability and bug fixes.
This update only affects the advanced compiler (Cairo → Sierra), meaning contracts written with the new version can be immediately deployed to testnet or mainnet.
The new version improves language server stability and performance, and introduces new language features such as range operators. Additionally, the Cairo package registry scarbs.xyz has launched; uploads are currently on a whitelist basis, but users can browse popular packages. The Starknet team advises developers to use the latest version of Scarb 2.8.0 and the VSCode extension to benefit from the latest improvements, and encourages reporting any issues in the Telegram support group.
