A Department of Labor spokesperson said that due to a technical failure, the government failed to publicly release key data on time, and some staff provided this information to callers before the official release.
It was reported that the release of the revised nonfarm payrolls data on August 21 was delayed by more than 30 minutes, resulting in a 22-minute information gap between internal employees and external users. The Department of Labor has pledged to improve its internal communication mechanisms to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
