TechFlow news, on August 27, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) announced plans to launch Bitcoin Friday futures (BFF) on September 30, 2024, pending regulatory review. Each BFF contract will represent 1/50 of a bitcoin, aiming to enhance capital efficiency and accessibility. These short-term contracts will expire weekly on Fridays at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time and will be settled based on the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate New York variant. CME stated that this design could make BFF more closely aligned with the spot price of bitcoin.
