"Tether remains steadfastly committed to supporting global law enforcement in combating the illicit use of cryptocurrencies," wrote Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino in a statement on August 23. Since its inception, Tether has "voluntarily frozen" more than 1,900 cryptocurrency wallets globally associated with illegal activities.
