TechFlow news: Sony Group and Startale have announced a joint development of the Sony L2 blockchain, Soneium. Focused on scalability and user-friendliness, the project plans to launch Web3 applications in fields such as entertainment, gaming, and finance.
Soneium is currently preparing for launch and will integrate with Astar Network's zkEVM.
In the future, Soneium aims to build an ecosystem across the Asia-Pacific region, including protecting creators' rights and establishing new profit-sharing mechanisms, with deep integration into Sony's existing ecosystem. Additionally, Sony plans to launch a local cryptocurrency trading platform called S.Block in Japan, signaling its continued expansion in the blockchain space.
Previous report: Startale Labs, the main developer behind Astar Network, received a $3.5 million investment from Sony Network Communications. Astar Network has also secured $22 million in funding from institutions including Polychain, Coinbase Ventures, and Binance Labs.
