TechFlow news: Filecoin has announced the launch of the second round of its FIL-RetroPGF (Retrospective Public Goods Funding) program in autumn 2024. Inspired by Optimism, this initiative aims to provide retroactive impact funding for the Filecoin ecosystem.
The first round of FIL-RetroPGF distributed over 200,000 FIL (approximately $1 million) across 95 projects.
The second round will offer increased funding, streamline application, voting, and distribution processes, and improve user experience. Funds will be streamed via Drips on the FVM. FIL-RetroPGF-2 will continue to cover multiple categories including infrastructure, tools, education, protocol research and development, governance, and products, with a particular focus on Filecoin data onboarding, applications that enhance usability, FVM on-chain payment development, progress in protocol R&D, cross-network connectivity projects, and reliable tools such as high-quality RPC providers, explorers, and dashboards.
